The team at the ARC have their work cut out for them to police ruptured time anomalies and the growing threat of entrepreneur Philip Burton, whose grip on the ARC is tightening with every episode.
The series starts with an underground creature bringing chaos to the city, forcing the team to track down the movements of this vicious burrowing monster. When the creature strikes for the final time, the team find one of their own in mortal danger and fight to save their life.

I think what's exciting about Primeval V is that we get a lot of big revelations about Matt Anderson and why he joined the team and what his real ambitions are. We also learn more about Philip Burton and what his possible role is in how the team is going to operate in the future.
In Primeval V, the stakes are higher and the stories are even more focused on the individuals in the team. There's a crisis for everyone and the team face the biggest challenge they've ever had.
One episode is set entirely in a submarine, which was built on dry land in Ireland, and you'll see some huge sea creatures. There are some big surprises too — characters that you thought were gone might be coming back, and the climax of the series includes the biggest two episodes ever in Primeval. The whole future of the planet and the human race is at stake...
